Uganda Women’s Network officially breaks ground on the gender based violence shelter

Uganda Women’s Network (UWONET) officially broke ground on the Gender Based Violence (GBV) Shelter in Kamuli District at a ceremony on 13th May 2014. The ceremony was officiated over by local leaders, government officials from the Ministry of Gender Labor and Social development, Chairperson and Executive Director of UWONET. The GBV Shelter facility provides GBV survivors with medical, legal and psychosocial support services including temporary accommodation to reduce stigma, protect survivors from further harm as they access justice, medical treatment and coping with the healing process.
