Gender Inequity Norms Are Associated with Increased Male-Perpetrated Rape and Sexual Risks for HIV Infection in Botswana and Swaziland

The findings in this article are based on a study done in Botswana and Swaziland. The study looked at gender inequity norms, sexual power, and HIV risks among men and women. The study concluded that gender inequity norms are related to higher incidences of sexual violence and unsafe sexual practices (factors associated to an increased risk of contracting HIV).
