Mission Statement
The Young Africa Women Initiative (YAWI) aims to provide women survivors of war, civil violence, and gender-based violence with the tools and resources necessary to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self-sufficiency.
Our Goals: education/empowerment of women is our primary goal.
• Educate women on their human rights and empower them to create social change through peace building activities
• Encourage African women to develop their communities using sustainable methods
• Increase the amount of resources available for women’s projects
• Establish a network of organizations and individuals committed to promoting and protecting women’s rights
