Mission Statement
Our Vision
A violence-free society where there is respect for human rights for all regardless of their gender and sexuality.
Our Mission
KEFEADO exists to promote gender equity, equal opportunities and human rights for all with a focus on engaging and questioning cultural beliefs and practices towards building rights-based cultures, as well as building girls, female youth and women’s leadership.
Our Overall Goal
KEFEADO aims to reduce ignorance of human rights, change individual and collective behavior and laws and policies, and mobilize women, men, girls and boys, and female and male youth in and out of learning institutions as agents of change in both rural and urban communities.
Theory of change
If more social justice organizations in Kenya and East Africa, community leadership structures, learning institutions and curriculum developers would focus their attention on identifying beliefs and practices which undermine the self-esteem and rights of women and girls and stagnate development, so that women and men; girls and boys are socialized to identify harmful beliefs and practices among others female genital Mutilation (FGM), Wife Cleansing, Inheritance and Battery and experience the underlying authentic power that this new way of life represents, then gender equality, equity and rights based approaches are not contested and ultimately KEFEADO will contribute to less violent society with growing respect for human rights for all, regardless of their gender, age, religion, sexuality, sexual diversity, ethnicity and all other distinctions.
