Mission Statement
By establishing a desk for Conflict Resolution and Human Rights the North-Western Diocese of the ELCT wants: To show clearly her position against violence in any form in order to be a truthful witness to the Gospel of love and forgiveness; To strengthen church workers and parish members (pastors, teachers, elders, women leaders) in their response to conflict and human rights violations in their neighbourhoods; To become a reliable ally for the victims of violence, sharing their perspective, helping them to bear their pain and to fight their struggle for liberation; and, To join and contribute to the ecumenical Decade Overcoming Violence of the World Council of Churches.
