Namibia Third on Africa’s Gender Index

Namibia: Ranked 3rd out of 52 African countries for improvements on gender equality. African Development Bank Group’s special envoy on gender Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi said in the introduction of the Index report published on its website that with this evidence base, African citizens will be able to demand more from their governments.

“Its findings will give African leaders, policymakers, economists and civil society the evidence they need to begin dismantling the barriers that prevent women from making a full contribution to the continent’s development,” she noted.

Congratulations to Namibia for making third on Africa’s Gender Index after South Africa and Rwanda.
